If your social media algorithms are anything like mine, you may be seeing LOTS of videos about Kizik shoes for women. They are stylish sneakers that can be slipped on your feet hands free. The ads finally won me over, and I ordered three pairs to review for the blog.
For the record, Kizik has no idea who I am. I purchased these shoes myself so this Kizik review is completely honest. I’ve had my shoes for a couple of months now and feel I’ve had enough time to really dive in and share everything you need to know.
Also, if you’re new here. I share lots of content about wide width shoes and extra wide width shoes, so while the majority of my Kizik review will be applicable to everyone, I’ll have some extra info to share about the Kizik wide width shoes fit. I am also a plus size woman so my review will cover how well these shoes work for people with larger bodies.

About Kizik Shoes for Women
Kizik is a company offering high-tech hands-free shoes that you can slip on without bending over. They don’t require tying and look like traditional sneakers. Kizik has become very popular recently and has been widely discussed on social media.
Kizik is based in the USA and they offer a number of adaptive footwear styles in men’s, women’s, and children’s sizes. They offer both standard and wide width shoes.
My Honest Kizik Review – Overall Thoughts On The Viral Slip On Sneakers
First, I’ll share my experience with Kizik shoes as a whole and then I’ll dive into my detailed review of each of the styles I have tried so far.
Pros of Kizik Hands Free Shoes:
- The EASE! I LOVE the hands-free experience of putting on these shoes. As a mom of two toddlers, any time I leave the house, I’ve got my hands full. I’m either carrying a child or the countless things we need when we go anywhere with them. I can’t count how many times I’ve been headed out the door with everyone and everything in tow only to realize that I forgot to put on my own shoes. I then have to put everything down, get out the shoes, put them on and tie them. With Kizik shoes, I can just slide them on and keep moving!
- The Styles: I love that there are (currently) seven different women’s styles available in countless color ways so there is something for everyone. I ordered the Athens, Vegas, and Madrid Eco-Knit styles for this review.
- The Size Range: The shoes are available in half sizes which is great for those who are in between sizes. The women’s shoes are available in sizes 6-13 which is great since many brands don’t offer sizes that large. Additionally, the men’s shoes are available from size 4.5 to 15. Many of the styles and color ways are offered in both men’s and women’s so if you are a woman with a foot larger than a 13, you can always order a men’s size.
- Wide Width Availability: As someone with wide feet, I often feel left out of shoe trends. It’s so nice that these are available in both standard and wide widths.
Cons of Kizik Shoes for Women:
- Cleaning: While Kizik does offer a shoe cleaning kit for purchase and the insoles are washable, the shoes themselves are not. As someone who prefers white shoes, I wish the whole shoe were machine washable.
- Extra Wide Width Availability: Kizik does not currently offer extra wide width (or narrow width) shoes. The wide width option is pretty generous in the athletic style shoes so some options may work for those with extra wide feet. I hope Kizik will offer more widths in the future. This is especially needed in the leather Vegas sneaker style as the leather is not as forgiving as the knit of other shoes.
- Cost: The price range of these shoes is $99-$149 and while this is not out of line with most sneakers, I know this is out of the price range of many people. Kizik does offer periodic discounts.
- Color Options: There are a number of different color ways for each style, but I would love to see this expanded even further! I would especially love to see more fun patterns and prints on the women’s shoes and more basic color ways (like white) for kids’ shoes since it’s nice to have a variety!
Overall, I think the Kizik shoes are incredible, and I’m thrilled with my purchase. As I mentioned, I tried three different styles for this review and my opinion does vary by style.
You can check out all of the styles available from Kizik here.
Up next, I’ll review the individual shoes I tried:
Kizik Athens Slip On Shoes Review
The Kizik Women’s Athens shoes ($129) appear to be the most popular style from the brand with over 16,000 reviews at the time of publishing. These shoes use Hands Free Labs Cage technology which allows you to easily step into the shoes. The heel pops back up and you’re good to go!
The shoes have a breathable upper knit material which is great to keep your feet cool during warmer weather and during exercise.
The White Creme colorway was my top choice as I prefer mostly neutral shoes. I ordered a size 10 Wide which is my normal size, although if extra wide is available I typically would go for that instead.
I love the roomy toe box and how soft and comfortable yet supportive the insoles and Rabbit Foam Outsole make the shoes feel.
Of the three styles I tried, the Kizik Women’s Athens Slip On Shoes are the most comfortable. I use these for our daily family walks and with day-to-day athleisure outfits.
I can see why these are so popular with the brand, and if I had to choose to keep only one pair of the Kizik shoes, these would be the ones I’d keep.
My other favorite colorways are Bahama, Huckleberry, Lilac, and White.
Kizik Vegas Slip On Shoe Review
When placing my first order, the Kizik Women’s Vegas shoes ($129) were the pair I was most excited about. This style is SO versatile and can be worn with everything from your favorite denim to your cute dresses. The white leather pair is such a classic that I knew would be an instant wardrobe staple if they fit well and were comfortable.
These shoes slip on similarly to the Athens style, but use a different technology by Hands Free Technologies (not the cage). I found that the Vegas shoes required a bit more wiggling to get into but were still much easier than traditional sneakers.
Given that the shoe is made of leather instead of knit, the shoe is also not as forgiving and comfortable as the Athens style. They’re still nice, but if you’re looking for the feeling that you’re not wearing shoes at all, Athens is more in line with that.
As someone with wide to extra wide feet, I wish the wide width were just a bit wider than they are or alternatively that extra wide options were available.
Like many leather shoes, this style does seem to get more comfortable and mold to the foot with wear.
If you prefer a less athletic style shoe and want the slip on experience, these are a great option! I love the way these look with so many of my outfits and they’re a much more comfortable alternative to some of the dressier shoes I’d otherwise wear with these outfits.
Aside from the white I purchased, I also love the blush pink for a pop of color. Chesnut is also great for Fall/Winter outfits!
Kizik Madrid Eco-Knit Slip On Shoe Review
The Kizik Women’s Madrid Eco-Knit ($99) was the third shoe style I purchased. I went with the Marshmallow color for a neutral look. It’s great that this style is a bit more affordable at $99, and I like the simple design and knit material.
I also love that this shoe is a sustainable choice, with the upper made of 100% recycled plastic bottles. It has four-way stretch and is very breathable. The upper is VERY comfortable on these, and I like that my feet don’t feel restricted. I have no idea how they can turn plastic into such a comfortable material, but I would have never known they were plastic if I hadn’t read it online.
My biggest con for this style of Kizik shoes for women is that the soles of the shoes are not as cushiony and comfortable as the Athens style. The Athens feels like you’re walking on a cloud and these are a bit more firm. Had I not tried the Athens too these would have likely felt fine but in comparison, they’re just not as comfortable as the Athens.
I also struggle a bit when slipping these on as the tongue of the shoe tends to slide down, requiring me to use my hands to pull it back up. This, of course, doesn’t work well if you need putting on the shoes to be a truly hands free experience.
I did decide to keep these as “inside shoes” since we don’t like to wear shoes inside our house. These are worn when I’m cleaning and when I do my indoor workouts. I do like them; however, if you’re debating between these and the Athens, I recommend Athens instead.
I love this Sage color!

They run very true to size. If you have wide feet or extra wide feet. pay attention to the material used in the shoe style of your choice. The leather shoes are less forgiving than the mesh options. For any plus size person with limited mobility, these are even more helpful as they slip on without the need to bend over and tie the shoes.
Does Kizik make a walking shoe?
Several of Kizik’s styles would be great for walking. I typically walk 30 minutes per day and have been wearing the Athens style with no issues.
