HELLO MARCH!!!!! I always get so excited when March rolls around because Spring is the best! I am so excited for all things Spring fashion, Spring cleaning, and SPRING BREAK! I’m so inspired right now and my mind is racing with all of the things I want to share with you – so many ideas, so little time! Haha.
I’ve been brainstorming the best ways to share all of the things I’m loving with you and how I can organize it in a way that is most beneficial. I’ve spent a lot of time sharing things I’m loving on IG stories and LOVE the conversations we all have via DM when I do. On the other hand, when content disappears after 24 hours and the good discussions are happening one on one, not everyone benefits.
I’ve decided to start sharing a monthly roundup of all my favorite goodies I’m loving on the blog. I’ll share all things fashion and beauty as always, but also home decor, business stuff, entertainment and more. Don’t worry – the IG stories and our awesome convos will continue, but I’m excited to organize my thoughts here and hopefully spark conversations publicly so everyone benefits!
I hope you enjoy it! Let’s dive into my first ever monthly faves roundup! Here’s everything I was loving the most in February!
Today’s post is one I’m extremely excited to share with you. It’s the first ever guest post published here on The Plus Life. I’ve always envisioned using this platform to amplify voices besides just my own, and I’m excited to share the work of someone I immensely respect. I can’t wait for you to learn about Chaya from Mechanic Shop Femme today. Chaya is an automotive consultant who blogs about plus size fashion AND empowers women and the LGBTQ community to learn about all things auto.
Today, Chaya is going to share some maintenance knowledge but if you’re interested in learning even more, be sure to check out her website for blog posts, courses, and consulting services.
I started my blog at the end of March in 2018. It has been quite the whirlwind, and I’ve loved EVERY minute of connecting with you here. What started as a creative outlet is turning into a platform that allows me to connect with women throughout the world who are share similar interests.
It’s by far one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, and I’m SOOO happy you’re here with me. It’s been quite the learning experience figuring out what you like and what resonates, so I thought it would be fun to share the posts that were the most read on The Plus Life in 2018.
I love hearing from you and some of the best content I’ve created has stemmed from the questions you ask me on a daily basis. Please chime in with a comment below… what would be your top three topics you’d like to see covered on The Plus Life in 2019? I’m working on my 2019 content calendar now, so your best ideas will be included!
The holidays can be such a stressful time for all of us, when they really should be joyous. We’re spending quality time with loved ones, celebrating generosity and experiencing the magic of the season. I’m guilty of letting the holidays stress me out sometimes, but this year I was determined to change that. Here’s a rundown of what I’ve learned and how I simplified my holiday season this year.
In general, I don’t like wasting money on paper products like birthday cards, gift wrap, etc. because for the most part they get thrown away. I would rather save the $5 I’d spend on fancy gift wrap and get a better gift with cute but inexpensive card and paper.
Photo holiday cards are a little different because many people (including me) do save them. I still don’t need them to be the fanciest pieces of paper ever, so they’re not something I like investing a lot of money into.
Y’all, the holiday season is the best! There are parties, family time, and pretty much all of my favorite things. After December 25th, though, I’m usually done with winter and just want to cozy up at home with Kevin and my dog as much as possible.
I know I’m not alone in this sentiment, so I think the perfect holiday gift is one that brings comfort for the remaining winter months. If you’re like me and enjoy a cozy night in, you might want to consider these gift ideas as “treat yourself” ideas instead.
If you’re shopping for your favorite homebody, he or she will thank you for any of these gifts under the tree this year!
Did you catch the announcement that The Plus Life will be participating in BLOGMAS by providing a TON of awesome holiday-inspired content throughout the month of December? Well, it’s true… and here we are again for part two in the series!
Check out the first post here to read about 15 awesome holiday traditions you could start this year!
Today’s post is the next in the Blogmas series, and it’s been extra fun to prepare for you! I have a few special gift guides coming your way as part of the series, but I thought it would be fun to start with a roundup of the exact items I PERSONALLY would love to receive this year for Christmas. I don’t currently own any of the items on this list but they’re all things I’ve been considering purchasing or hinting about to my family.
Real talk, this is a LONG list. I have absolutely zero expectation of receiving all or even most of these items. I’ll narrow this down to a few of the things I want the most and share it with the people who’ll be shopping for me. Hi, Mom! Hi, Kevin!
I’m no fan of cold weather, but even with the cold I would say December is the best month of the year because of the focus on quality time with family and friends throughout the holidays.
I’m SO excited to share with you that because of how much I love the holidays, I’ll be participating in my first ever BLOGMAS this year… with a little twist. I’ll be coming to you with a TON of awesome holiday content this month and you’ll be seeing more posts than usual around here.
You know what is completely overwhelming? Hosting a major holiday for the first time. Kevin and I are traveling to New York to spend Thanksgiving with his family this year, but I’m planning on hosting a Thanksgiving meal for some of my family in Kentucky on another day.
We are so excited to finally have space for entertaining, but given that we haven’t been able to in the past… we are definitely lacking in some of the basics we need for hosting.
If you’re like us and plan to host a holiday meal for the first time this year, check out my tips and tricks below. I’ve done all the overanalyzing so that you don’t have to! Haha.
