If you follow Woman Within on social media or if you receive the brand’s catalogs, you may have seen a familiar face (AKA mine) on your screen or in your mailbox recently! I know I write for a living, but I struggle to find the words to express how special this experience has been and how honored I am to lend my voice to the message Woman Within is sharing with the world with the “Every Body Is Beautiful” campaign.
In today’s post, I’m going to share with you a bit of info about the campaign and what it means to me, give you a “behind the scenes” of the photoshoot day, and I’ll share with you the pieces I wore from the Woman Within Spring/Summer collection in the campaign.
Every Body Is Beautiful Campaign
About Woman Within
The Every Body Is Beautiful (#EveryBodyIsBeautiful) campaign is a new way to express what Woman Within has been doing for a LONG time. For 100 years, Woman Within has offered clothing in sizes 12 – 44. That’s 100 years of learning about plus size bodies and creating affordable essentials that meet our needs!
The Every Body Is Beautiful spring/summer campaign features bloggers and Woman Within customers. These women represent a variety of shapes and sizes, ethnicities, and ages… a true representation of the belief that every body IS beautiful. After meeting these women, I also learned that everyone involved is equally as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. I wish I could have brought you with me to the shoot for you to experience the incredible conversations and the joy we all felt to be part of such a special project.
What This Campaign Means To Me
This campaign is remarkable. Seeing women of all different ages, backgrounds, sizes, and ethnicities represented in a marketing campaign makes me emotional. I’ve been plus size my entire life, and what excites me the most about this campaign is the thought that so many incredible women will be able to see themselves in those of us who participated and know that we’re all in this together and all beautiful exactly as we are today.
I can’t count how many times I’ve thought about teenage me or 20-something me throughout this experience and wished SHE had seen campaigns like this in media. I also think about how different things will be for little girls growing up today if they consistently see messages like this. It’s a beautiful thing and it makes me so happy to think of the good a message like this can do.
Behind The Scenes of a Brand Campaign Shoot
This was my first time participating in a brand marketing campaign of this nature, and I truly had no idea what to expect going into it. I thought it would be fun to give you a little glimpse into what the day was like because it truly was incredible.
The photoshoot took place over a couple of days in New York City. As some of you know, I used to live in New York so it was really nice to head back for a couple of days. Something about being in the city for THIS particular project made me fall in love with it all over again.
A week or so before the shoot, we received an email with the list of the crew and “talent” which is what the influencers and customers who participated were called. I saw several familiar names and was so excited to meet some of my favorite bloggers at the shoot. Seeing the number of people on the list who would be supporting the shoot was the first time I realized exactly how big this was going to be! There were creative team members, hair stylists, makeup artists, wardrobe stylists, photographers, lighting experts, etc.
The morning of the shoot I was a bundle of nerves. I arrived at the location and found out that we were in the same building as Martha Stewart’s brand headquarters. I’m OBSESSED with Martha and want to be her, so I was instantly thrilled.
As soon as I arrived in the studio, my fears were eased. The entire Woman Within team was SO kind and everyone was so excited to be there that day. I had so much fun getting to know everyone during any downtime we had… it was truly like catching up with friends although most of us had never met.
One of the things I was most excited about during the day was having my hair and makeup professionally done by the team. I’m pretty sure I asked for info about every single makeup product used on my face. Of course, I also got the scoop about any celebrities they had worked with… I can’t help myself!
I’d say the biggest surprise of the day was THE PUPPIES!! I nearly lost my mind when the two cute golden retriever puppies were brought in for the shoot… I wasn’t alone in my excitement. I tried to maintain my composure for as long as possible but eventually went for some puppy cuddles.
While I do take photos weekly for my blog, I have no professional modeling experience. When it was my turn to step onto the set, I got pretty nervous but the Woman Within team was so encouraging and made it SO much fun by allowing me to choose my own music (I went with Ariana Grande).
I was also extremely pumped to see the “Beyonce fan” and was loving having my perfectly coiffed hair blown all over the place. LOL.
At the shoot, there were racks upon racks of clothing. The stylists had chosen outfits they thought we’d like based upon pictures they had seen of us on social media. I was so impressed by how spot-on they were with the selections but they also let us browse everything available to choose our own favorites to wear.
It was such a wonderful day, and honestly… When I started my blog last year I never even dreamed it could lead me to an experience like this. It was such an honor to be included.
Shop The Pieces I Wore
The spring and summer pieces from Woman Within definitely don’t disappoint! There are lots of fun colors, classic patterns like stripes (my personal favorite), and silhouettes for every preference. The line includes so many essentials like great denim, classic tees, and fun dresses! They’re affordable and can easily be mixed and matched making each piece a great addition to your wardrobe.
Here’s what I wore during the shoot:
White Denim Jacket
There is nothing I love more than a great denim jacket for spring. I wore the white version of this with a crinkle dress, and love it in all of the available colors.
Straight Leg Stretch Jean
Jeans are by far the hardest clothing item for me to find, and I LOVE these! I actually took these home with me after the shoot and wear them frequently. During the shoot, we cuffed them for a cropped look – so versatile! These also come in a great range of colors and washes.
Crinkle Dress
I wore this in “Navy Carnation”… I can’t get enough navy right now! I would love styling this with a simple belt, cute sandals, and a denim jacket!
Perfect V-Neck Tunic Tee ( 3/4 Length Sleeve)
You really can’t beat a classic, white v-neck. I loved the tunic length and the slit on each side. I don’t always go for 3/4 length sleeves but trying this top inspired me to do so more — I really enjoyed the look! You can’t go wrong with a classic white tee and jeans, and the group photo of all of us rocking the look is my favorite from the shoot!
Perfect Keyhole Tee
I loved the purple shade I wore in this tee! It’s such a fun color and the keyhole added a little something special to an otherwise classic wardrobe staple.

SO FUN! Thanks for sharing your experience! I DID see your face on the WW site a few days ago and was like, wait a second… Definitely love that crinkle dress. I also love seeing the fit of that white denim jacket. I recently purchased a denim jacket from Old Navy but it doesn’t quite fit my arms (sigh…story of my life.) I’ll definitely check out the WW version! Can’t wait to see more from you!

Ahhh! So sorry I missed this comment. So wild to see my face in ads. Haha. I was so happy the white jacket fit my arms. I think it was a size up from my usual but fit perfectly!
