I don’t share many #OOTD (outfit of the day) posts here, but I felt like this outfit deserved a permanent space on the blog because I love it so much. I’ve been on the hunt for white shorts FOREVER and struck out again and again…. and again. I tried these from Eloquii and while I love their regular denim in this style, the white didn’t fit my body type at all. I need a lot of stretch in my denim because of the extreme difference between the size of my waist and my hips and the white ones just didn’t have it.
My white short hunt led me to my ever-trustworthy friend, Lane Bryant.

White Lane Bryant Plus Size Girlfriend Jeans
These White Girlfriend Jeans from Lane Bryant have the perfect amount of stretch and fit my waist nicely while being roomy enough in the legs. The site says they are a 5.5″ hem but they seem longer than that to me. They did come rolled up, and I unrolled them. Maybe they were 5.5″ before I did.
They’re a mid-rise waist but I have no issues with them sliding down throughout the day. I do wear nude undies but haven’t noticed them being see through at all.
The fabric content is 76% Cotton/22% Polyester/2% Spandex. I’m wearing them in a size 28, which is my usual size.
Blue and White Striped Embroidered Tank Top From Lane Bryant
When I first saw this embroidered blue and white tank top, it reminded me of my true loves, Reese Witherspoon and her brand Draper James. Unfortunately, once DJ ended its collaboration with Eloquii, they stopped offering clothing in a size 4X. It happened maybe a year ago and I’m still salty about it, to be honest.
Anyway, anything blue and white has been catching my eye lately so I was excited about this top. The only problem? The boxy/straight cut style of tops like this normally fit my “pear” shape TERRIBLY. I happened to take a look at the only review for the shirt and it was a negative one.
The reviewer said that the top was too small in the bust and way too roomy in the waist for her. For me, as someone with a smaller bust and larger hips… this sounded like just what I needed. That negative review encouraged me to try it although I almost never have luck with tops this style. I’m so glad I did – I LOVE IT
TIP! Use reviews, even negative ones, to your advantage. Every body type is SO different. The very qualities that make one person hate a piece are the same ones that make others LOVE it!
