Plus size friendly patio furniture is notoriously difficult to find, especially if you don’t want to spend thousands of dollars.
My husband and I have been in our home for nearly three years now and for the first two summers, we were generously loaned patio furniture by my mom and dad. This year it was time for us to go out and find our own, and I searched high and low for a set that met all of my criteria:

- Heavy duty (high weight limit to ensure all guests are comfortable and safe)
- Attractive – we really want to create a backyard “oasis” over time and I wanted the furniture to not only be sturdy but also beautiful
- Comfortable – no metal seating that cuts into the backs of your legs. We wanted nice cushions that allow for lots of lounging
- Affordable – we did not want to spend thousands of dollars on a set
- Versatile – we needed seating for both lounging and dining since we use our back patio a lot for both things
After lots of research, I found a set that met every single criterion we set. The best part? It’s less than $1,000 (currently only $697) and can be easily shipped right to your home from Walmart.com.
Here are a few key things to note:
The set comes with a two-piece sectional, two ottomans, a dining table, and covers. Each of the two sections has a 750-pound weight limit and the ottomans each have a 250-pound weight limit, although we’ve had people larger than 250 lbs comfortably sit on them. The two sections can also be set up across from one another with ottomans on each end to create a dining space for eight people in total. Assembly was completed by my husband and didn’t take long.
