There’s just something so exciting about the fresh start of a new year and in this case… a new decade!
One of my favorite things to do on New Year’s Eve each year is to reflect back on the year past and then set intentions/goals/resolutions (whatever you want to call them!) for the year ahead.
For me, 2019 was a year of extremes. I have experienced some of the highest of high moments and some of the lowest of lows. I walk into 2020 still walking a fine line between grief/sorrow and incredible joy as we expect our daughter in February after losing our son in December.
Our journey to parenthood will likely be what defines 2019 in my mind forever because it was by far the most significant story of our year. There was much more to the journey, though, and I’ve enjoyed looking back on the many blessings of the year and sharing them with you here.
If you haven’t read my recent pregnancy announcement post, you may want to start there first… but long story short, my husband and I are overjoyed that we are expecting twins! I had referenced our fertility journey briefly and since sharing our news and mentioning our fertility struggle again, I’ve since received countless emails and DMs requesting the specifics or asking questions, so I wanted to prioritize sharing our story with you.
Over on my Instagram, I asked what specific questions you have and I’ll try my best to answer them all here. If you do have any additional questions after reading the post, please feel free to post a comment below. I’ll be monitoring the comments closely and will reply and/or update the post accordingly. I’d love to have the discussions here vs. my DMs or email if possible so that everyone can benefit from the conversation.
Food ruts… I’ve been in one lately, and I know I’m not alone. Do you ever get SO tired of every single recipe you know how to make? So frustrating… let’s talk it about and then I’ll share some REALLY good news with you about an awesome, budget-friendly meal planning service I found called PlateJoy.
Amazon Prime Day is here, and I’ve been scoping out the scene all morning looking for bargains! My favorite Prime Day finds are always electronics and home items, so that’s most of what I’ve rounded up here.
Check out all of the faves I already own along with a few items on my wishlist for this year and beyond!

I’ll be the first to admit that organization doesn’t come naturally to me. My natural tendency is to leave things a bit messy and chaotic. I definitely don’t WANT that to be the case and am making an effort to get organized and stay that way.
We went from having a one bedroom apartment on the beach in New York to a four bedroom house with a full basement in Kentucky. I thought it would take us YEARS to even fill the house with furniture but we managed to accumulate a lot of stuff very quickly.
Before we dive into today’s post, I want to announce something exciting… I launched a YouTube Channel! It won’t be replacing the blog but will be a supplement allowing us to dive a bit deeper into the things we’re chatting about here! Plus size fashion, home decor/DIY, travel, and lifestyle!
In the future, many of my blog posts will ALSO feature video content! In today’s blog post I’m sharing five tips for an organized closet and if you scroll ALL the way to the end of the post, I’ve embedded my latest YouTube video which is a tour of my own closet!
I follow a lot of thin “lifestyle influencers” on Instagram and YouTube, and I always notice they wear the most luxurious, beautiful pajama sets. Unfortunately, I can’t wear the ones they recommend because they don’t come in plus sizes but I always LOVE the way they look.
For months, I searched high and low for classic pajama sets that are available in plus sizes. I found several cute options but ultimately landed on an incredible set from WomanWithin.com that are available in sizes 14-40!
I started my blog at the end of March in 2018. It has been quite the whirlwind, and I’ve loved EVERY minute of connecting with you here. What started as a creative outlet is turning into a platform that allows me to connect with women throughout the world who are share similar interests.
It’s by far one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, and I’m SOOO happy you’re here with me. It’s been quite the learning experience figuring out what you like and what resonates, so I thought it would be fun to share the posts that were the most read on The Plus Life in 2018.
I love hearing from you and some of the best content I’ve created has stemmed from the questions you ask me on a daily basis. Please chime in with a comment below… what would be your top three topics you’d like to see covered on The Plus Life in 2019? I’m working on my 2019 content calendar now, so your best ideas will be included!
Y’all, the holiday season is the best! There are parties, family time, and pretty much all of my favorite things. After December 25th, though, I’m usually done with winter and just want to cozy up at home with Kevin and my dog as much as possible.
I know I’m not alone in this sentiment, so I think the perfect holiday gift is one that brings comfort for the remaining winter months. If you’re like me and enjoy a cozy night in, you might want to consider these gift ideas as “treat yourself” ideas instead.
If you’re shopping for your favorite homebody, he or she will thank you for any of these gifts under the tree this year!
Did you catch the announcement that The Plus Life will be participating in BLOGMAS by providing a TON of awesome holiday-inspired content throughout the month of December? Well, it’s true… and here we are again for part two in the series!
Check out the first post here to read about 15 awesome holiday traditions you could start this year!
Today’s post is the next in the Blogmas series, and it’s been extra fun to prepare for you! I have a few special gift guides coming your way as part of the series, but I thought it would be fun to start with a roundup of the exact items I PERSONALLY would love to receive this year for Christmas. I don’t currently own any of the items on this list but they’re all things I’ve been considering purchasing or hinting about to my family.
Real talk, this is a LONG list. I have absolutely zero expectations of receiving all or even most of these items. I’ll narrow this down to a few of the things I want the most and share it with the people who’ll be shopping for me. Hi, Mom! Hi, Kevin!
